This course is designed for Nutritional Practitioners, other allied healthcare professionals who work with clients with persistent pain, and individuals looking to increase their knowledge base of complex pain. The role of supplements and specific therapeutic diets in its treatment will be thoroughly explored. This 4 session long course will teach critical thinking skills for the care and identification of chronic pain, and explain the roles of other healthcare professionals in its multidisciplinary care. Recommendations for usage and dosage of nutritional therapies, special diets, and specific supplements, as well as the research on them and how they work, will be provided.

This course will cover:

• The neurophysiology and development of complex pain
• An overview of health conditions that involve chronic pain
• The assessment and interviewing of different types of chronic pain
• The role of nutrition and holistic care
• Evidence-based recommendations
• Available nutritional supplements and dietary protocols

* Most of our courses begin in the evening (Eastern time, Canada) but since Vanessa is currently in Berlin, Germany doing her PhD, and is 6 hours ahead of our time zone, we are starting earlier to accommodate the time difference.

— Sessions 2 to 8 will be sent to registered students after the first class, on the Friday that follows
— Recordings of each sessions is sent to registered students the following day

ARE YOU OUTSIDE OF OUR TIME ZONES?

You may request to be considered for receiving replays (recordings) of the course with or without earning the Certificate of Completion. We can accommodate schedules on a case-by-case basis. If there is a test or exam scheduled, students must make an exception for attending LIVE on test or exam evening. If they are not able, students must make arrangements with the IHN administration to proctor the test or exam. CAN’T ATTEND LIVE?

Even if you are within our time zones and still can’t attend the LIVE classes, you can learn through recordings sent directly to you the day after the LIVE class. You will have access to all of the recordings throughout the entire run of the course, and 30 days after the course ends.
