Jennifer Ide, BSc (Hons.), MSc, CNP
Jennifer received her designation as a Certified Nutritional Practitioner from The Institute of Holistic Nutrition with First Class Honors. Jennifer is also a Registered BioEnergetics Intolerance Elimination Practitioner. Before entering into the field of nutrition, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Biology from Carleton University. She then continued her studies at the University of Ottawa, where she completed a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. During her graduate studies, she published her research findings in The Journal of Cellular Physiology. Jennifer is extremely passionate about science and nutrition. She enjoys using her knowledge to help clients find safe, effective health solutions and to restore optimal health. In addition to working with clients, Jennifer teaches Biological Chemistry at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition’s North York campus.
BC 001 Biological Chemistry
This introduction to chemistry will aid understanding towards the nature of atomic structure, qualitative chemical reactions and how they originate in our environment and other living organisms. This course will also cover nomenclature, isomerism, main functional groups, properties and characteristics of organic compounds including an introduction to the physical, structural and biological properties of carbohydrates, proteins, lipids and nucleic acids.
