Lynda Spieser BASc., AHC

Lynda is a practicing Ayurvedic Health Counselor, a Yoga Health Coach, an Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher, and a Yoga Therapist certified with the IAYT. Lynda graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Consumer Foods and followed with a Diploma in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Lynda’s 38-year career with a national food company began in Quality Assurance and Sensory Analysis, then morphed to Food Services, and evolved to the Director of Facilities Management. Towards the end of her corporate experience, Lynda was introduced to Ayurveda in her personal yoga studies. Captivated by the elements and how rhythms in nature influence her life, Lynda went on to study at Kripalu, graduating as an Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher and subsequently as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

As author of the CLAS Age-less-ness Series, Lynda teaches modern applications of the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda to individuals in her clinical practice and to groups of engaged women, meeting weekly and committed to supporting each other as they lock in new, rejuvenating habits.  Her clinical practice encompasses food and lifestyle self-care practices, tailored to the individual’s unique constitution and state, and in sync with the rhythms of nature, evolving them to be more in tune with their health and well-being. Feeling clear, awake, and nourished, they are energized – body, mind, soul, and senses. Lynda teaches Ayurveda: Mind/Body Healing at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition’s Mississauga Campus.

  • AMB 02 Ayurveda: Mind/Body Healing

    This course incorporates the philosophy of Holistic Nutrition with spiritual and psychological approaches towards attaining optimal health, through the connection and benefits of sound body and mind. This course will explain the principles and practical applications of Ayurveda, the oldest healing system in the world. Students will learn about the three forces – Vata, Pitta and Kapha, that combine in each being into a distinct constitution. Practical dietary and lifestyle recommendations for different constitutions will also be explored in real case studies.
