1. What brought you to study Holistic Nutrition at IHN?
My “why” is rooted in a lifelong passion for health and a genuine desire to help others feel their best. From playing doctor as a child to sharing nutrition insights with friends and family from my own research, I’ve always loved supporting people on their journey to better health. Studying at IHN feels like the perfect way to transform that passion into a meaningful purpose.

2. What professions have you worked in prior to enrolling at IHN?
Before coming to IHN, I worked in the food and service industry to support myself as a student. Those experiences taught me a great deal about people, especially how much awareness and education are still missing when it comes to food, nutrition, and fuelling our bodies for optimal health.
3. What degrees or academic achievements did you have prior to IHN?
Before attending IHN, I studied kinesiology at the University of Guelph. While I loved exploring human movement and physiology, I felt there was a significant gap when it came to understanding health and nutrition holistically, from the cellular level to environmental influences to the mind-body connection. I found myself at a crossroads: passionate about what I was learning, yet limited by a career path that didn’t fully support my desire to teach others about holistic health.

4. What are your goals/aspirations as a CNP?
I’m especially passionate about working in the area of gut health, where so many people still feel frustrated and stuck. I’d love to help clients improve their digestion and overall well being. I’m also wanting to support athletes in optimizing their training and fueling through a holistic lens. As a former female basketball player, I noticed a real lack of education around proper nutrition and performance, particularly for women. I hope to shift the focus away from body image in women’s sports and instead empower all athletes to maximize their abilities and thrive.
5. What has been your personal best achievement?
My greatest achievement has been choosing growth over comfort. Instead of staying on an academic path that felt safe and familiar, I challenged myself to pursue something new and less traditional. That decision has opened incredible doors for me, both professionally and personally. The education I’ve received at IHN has surpassed anything I imagined possible.
6. What is something you overcame in your life, that you didn’t think you could?
Overcoming disordered eating was one of the greatest challenges I’ve faced, but it ultimately inspired me to help others. That time was filled with pain and struggle, and I never want anyone to feel as lost as I did. My healing came from learning and teaching myself to see food as nourishment and health, rather than as something harmful or the enemy. Now, I’m passionate about helping others rebuild their relationship with food in a holistic, empowering way, just as I did.

7. What is something about you that would surprise people?
My favourite form of movement is weightlifting, which may surprise some. Being at the gym and lifting weights is a peaceful, relaxing and refreshing part of my day. Lifting helps me push myself but also reach a state of calm.

8. Is there anything you would like to share about your experience at IHN so far?
My experience at IHN so far has been incredible. From the plethora of co-op opportunities to the advanced, in-depth education, there have been countless positives. It’s hard to choose a single favourite class, as each has offered such valuable material, but if I had to pick, Symptomatology 1 with Jen stands out for the way all of our previous course material came together in an advanced yet cohesive style of learning. I also loved Professional Practice with Jesse, where we explored the laws of health and learned how to truly thrive as practitioners.
