On October 16 from 11am – 2pm, Heather will host Embodied Connections: Farm Tour & Mindful Lunch, a workshop where participants will be led through a meditation to deepen their connection to themselves and the Earth. Heather will discuss nutritional information, recipe ideas and health benefits of over a dozen crops. DEREK SIMNETT CNP
Derek Simnett is an October 2015 Vancouver campus graduate practicing in North Vancouver, BC. Derek helps clients reach their fitness and lifestyle goals through his practice, Simnett Nutrition. He had a very effective career in marketing and public relations before realizing his views and beliefs did not match with the products and messages he was representing; recognizing that the products he was promoting were actually the cause of many health issues seen in society. Kathrin Brunner is an April 2013 Toronto campus graduate practicing in Toronto, ON. She is a faculty member at IHN, has her own practice; For the Love of Body, and she’s also a bacteria nerd! Kathrin has taught over a thousand people how to ferment their own foods through her fermentation workshops over the last six years. Recently, she has had the opportunity to connect with one of the most inspirational figures in the world of fermentation, Sandor Katz, and is thrilled to announce an opportunity for others to meet him. NATALIE ROGERS BA, CNP, ROHP, LCCE
Natalie Rogers is an October 2009 Mississauga campus graduate practicing in Toronto, ON. Natalie is a Patient Education Specialist at Sunnybrook Hospital where she teaches Prenatal Classes and New Baby Care classes. She came to IHN with a university background in archaeology and anthropology, studies in lactation support and prenatal education with the intention of combining all four (including nutrition) into an integrated program designed to support couples on their journey to becoming parents. Her new website Conceive Life, aims to reach out to and educate couples planning to become parents on the importance of proper nutrition prior to conception, as well as during and after pregnancy. When Natalie is not working at Sunnybrook or her private practice, she is busy with her band, The Wanted. Carmen Dunn is an October 2012 Vancouver campus graduate practicing in Vancouver, BC. She is a speaker and instructor supporting success-driven women dealing with stress, fatigue, sleep, digestive and weight issues as well as anxiety and depression through her private practice, Caroline Dunn Nutritional Consulting. She helps these clients feel more energetic, happy and calm through nutrition, lifestyle and mindset coaching. Carmen is also a faculty member and instructor at IHN Vancouver. She is currently furthering her nutrition education in Functional Diagnostic Nutrition in California to identify more healing opportunities through functional lab work, especially for chronic stress-related disorders. KATHRYN (KAT) GREEN CNP
Kat Green is an October 2011 Toronto campus graduate practicing in Toronto, ON. Kat is an author, avid traveler, organic farmer, Hippocrates Health Educator, juice feaster, seven year raw foodist and gourmet raw chef who has written four low fat raw vegan recipe books, available through her website, Kat Green. In addition to her books, Kat enjoys spreading the word about a raw food diet and other lifestyle aspects in her videos on YouTube, where she has a large following. She makes her “advice-style” videos in response to questions she receives as well as myths and misconceptions in the health world. In a recent tongue-in-cheek video post, TOP 10 TIPS – Turn your Partner/Family Member/Friend Raw VEGAN, she playfully offers advice on “turning” people vegan. She, of course, understands that we cannot change people – but recognizes the impact influence has on those around us and the encouragement that our own enjoyment of healthy lifestyle options gives to others. Jill Hillhouse is an October 2003 Toronto campus graduate practicing in Toronto, ON. In her thirteen years of both private practice and clinic work at Cibo Clinic, Clear Medicine Wellness Boutique, and now the P3 Health Clinic, Jill has come to understand the foundational importance of blood sugar control for all her clients. CHLOE ELGAR BA, CNP
Chloe Elgar is an April 2013 Vancouver campus graduate practicing in both Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA.
