ACCREDITATIONS

The Institute of Holistic Nutrition – Vancouver Campus is registered and designated with the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) and holds the Education Quality Assurance  (EQA) designation from the Ministry of Advanced Education in British Columbia.

 

PTIB

The Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education administers the Private Training Act and associated regulations.   PTIB is dedicated to student protection and sets basic education standards for registered private career training institutions in British Columbia and establishes standards of quality which must be met by accredited institutions.

EQA

Education Quality Assurance (EQA) is a quality assurance designation that identifies BC public and private post-secondary institutions that have met or exceeded provincial government recognized quality assurance standards. EQA provides one standard provincial seal that can be recognized globally as symbol of quality education and consumer protection.

CIC

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) works with the provinces and territories and the various stakeholders within Canada’s international education community to deliver the International Student Program. To apply for a study permit on or after June 1, 2014, you will need to include the Designated Learning Institution number (DLI #).  In British Columbia, upon acceptance into IHN’s full Diploma Program international students receive IHN’s DLI # included within a formal acceptance package to record on their visa application and study permit.

Canadian Certification

IHN’s Diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition is recognized and approved by two of Canada’s respected educational standards bodies: the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC) and the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP). The designation CNP is earned exclusively by graduates of IHN.

When nearing completion of the program, guidance for sourcing applications to register and submit to IONC or CANNP will be offered. Graduates of IHN are fully qualified, with no further examinations, to receive the RNCP/ROHP designation from the IONC or the NNCP designation from CANNP.

American Certification

Graduates of IHN’s Applied Holistic Nutrition program, who wish to practice in the United States, qualify to become professional members of the American organization, the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (USA). NANP is a non-profit business league of nutrition professionals originally founded in 1985 as the Society of Certified Nutritionists. The NANP represents holistically trained nutrition professionals. Their mission is to enhance the integrity of the holistic nutrition profession through self-governance, educational standards and a rigorous code of ethics.
