Autoimmunity Natural Treatment and Prevention

Presenter: Dr. Jaclyn Smith BSc., ND

“By evaluating all determinants of wellness, I seek to find the root cause of disease and debility, allowing me then to help restore health through individualized treatment. It is my personal commitment to treat you, not simply a condition—a credo infused by my experience as a busy woman, wife and mother, driven to live a vital and active life in spite of my own history of autoimmunity.” – Dr. Jaclyn Smith

One-in-three people will be diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in their lifetime. Will it be you? It doesn’t have to be. In this lecture, you will learn the warning signs, as well as how to restore health and vitality to those with autoimmune conditions using evidence-based natural treatment and prevention.

Lecture highlights include:

• An in-depth analysis on the development of autoimmune conditions
• Therapeutic recommendations to support autoimmune conditions
• The pathogenesis of disease progression
• Naturopathic assessment, treatment, and prevention of the following conditions: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Psoriasis, Crohn’s Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis

About the Presenter

Dr. Smith’s thirst for knowledge has paved the way to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor. Growing up in a family afflicted with autoimmune diseases (and later developing her own autoimmune conditions), she opted to refute the belief that there was no cure, and began to question the underlying causes. Through her search for treatments, she became aware of Naturopathic Medicine, a science rooted in the principle, “Tolle Causam”, meaning “Treat the Cause”. The rest is history. With the successful application of Naturopathic Medicine, her family saw a reduction in medications and a reversal of symptoms—Dr. Smith saw a fulfilling and inspiring career. Dr. Smith completed a Bachelor of Science from The University of Western Ontario, followed by a Diploma of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Throughout her career, she has pursued extensive training in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. To further support the needs of her patients, Dr. Smith has also become a Certified Laser Therapist. Her credentials have fortified a practice that focuses on providing patients with an education on the many benefits of preventative health, and how to achieve a life free of pain and worry. With a dedication to educating the public on the many benefits of Naturopathic Medicine in the treatment of autoimmune disease, Dr. Smith has published several articles, been a guest expert for local media outlets, and continues to host regular community lectures.
