ZONULIN & INTESTINAL PERMEABILITY: THE REVOLUTIONARY TEST FOR LEAKY GUT

Presenter: Dr. Aaron Gonshor PHD, DDS, FRCD(C), FAO

Recent evidence has established the importance of intestinal permeability and the microbiome in a myriad of disease states. Increased permeability, also referred to as “Leaky Gut”, has been linked to chronic inflammatory disease states, as well as numerous autoimmune disorders and often precedes other manifestations of the disease state. As we know, attempting to assess the state of gut permeability, so as to determine the most appropriate corrective action, presents an incredible challenge, to say the least. Until now!

Join Dr. Aron Gonshor, President and CEO of FLUIDS iQ, a state-of-the-art, accredited Toronto laboratory specializing in wellness testing services, as he discusses the exciting discovery of the new biomarker Zonulin: The protein that has been established to be the controller of the “tight junctions” between intestinal cells, the key cause of “Leaky Gut”. In addition he will emphasize the use of IgG Food Sensitivity testing for the determination of enzymatic deficiencies and imbalance, as well as the new Histamine and Diamine Oxidase (DAO) test as a screening biomarker for intestinal inflammation. Holistic nutritionists are in a valuable position to advise their clients on how important the control of inflammation and “leaky gut” are to their wellbeing, and how to safely and effectively correct the condition.

You can expect to come away from this lecture with an understanding of the following:
•  The biological underpinning of intestinal permeability, “tight junctions” and the microbiome.
•  The interplay of intestinal permeability, inflammation, enzyme imbalance  and food sensitivities.
•
The biology of the new protein biomarker Zonulin in the control of “leaky gut”.
•
The importance of the new DAO/Histamine test for assessing gut inflammation.
