1. What brought you to study Holistic Nutrition at IHN?
I was seeking alternative health solutions to hormonal regulation when I got my endometriosis diagnosis, through various online schooling and research I stumbled upon IHN one day and I never turned back. I wanted to combat my own health without needing to take pills for the rest of my life, so IHN has shown me that food is medicine and that I can control the narrative without using conventional medications.
2. What course has been your favourite so far, and why?
Ayurveda and herbal medicine with Eva have taught me how to regain control of my symptoms and enhanced my cooking and healing skills exponentially. They both taught me how to use non-traditional healing methods and apply them to my everyday life. I feel more balanced in my cooking since using grass-fed ghee and I use herbs and spices in all my recipes including the ones I make for friends and family.
3. Describe your favourite experience at IHN so far?
Going on the herb walk with Eva was life-changing. I can be out walking on my favourite hiking trail and identify plants and herbs and know exactly what they do for the body and what time of the year they grow now. I’ll never look at the world the same way ever again.
4. What professions have you worked in prior to enrolling at IHN?
I have a background in Advertising and Marketing and even started my own Marketing company called Fearless Design back in 2021 which has now become a channel I use to promote my new adventure as a Holistic Nutritionist.
5. What degrees or academic achievements did you have prior to IHN?
I have completed various in-person and online studies including HTML design, Herbal Medicine, Marketing and Advertising and I have received many awards for volunteering in the community and being a proactive student in school.
6. What are your goals/aspirations as a CNP?
My goal is to become a Sports Nutritionist and to help those with hormonal issues achieve success in both their daily routine and workout routine. I want to empower women athletes to perform and be in check with their hormones more when training for professional or recreational sports.
7. What has been your personal best achievement?
Becoming a business owner during a pandemic was not the easiest or smartest decision I ever made, but it turned me into the confident person I am today and allowed me to learn so much about the world around me. I know marketing and nutrition are 2 very different things, but marketing is what led me to love people and want to do more for this earth, and nutrition taught me how to better serve the public without being pushy about what you buy day to day. Both are my greatest achievements and I plan to incorporate both into my life when I finish school.
8. What is something you overcame in your life, that you didn’t think you could?
Overcoming my hormonal battles and being able to not need medicines to control the narrative. I love that I have the energy again to work out, get out of bed and go places without worrying about my symptoms flaring up. I hope I can inspire others to do the same in the future and work with people who understand the struggle I went through to get to where I am now.
9. What is something about you that would surprise people?
I used to be on the Board of Directors for the Hamilton Hive which helped young entrepreneurs succeed with networking events, website recognition and lots of resources.
