1. What brought you to study Holistic Nutrition at IHN?

From a young age, I’ve been passionate about health and wellness. After facing my own personal health challenges, I found relief and inspiration through nutrition. Now, I’m on a mission to help others like me regain control over their health and achieve their optimal well-being. Pursuing holistic nutrition is not just a career for me—it’s a true passion. I’m grateful to be part of the incredible community at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, where I’m learning and growing every day!

2. What course has been your favourite so far, and why?

My favorite course so far has been Preventative Healthcare! There’s a wealth of material that resonates with just about everyone. I particularly enjoyed exploring holistic protocols for brain health and stress management.

3. Describe your best experience at IHN so far?

One of my favorite experiences at IHN so far has been writing a paper on a disorder I’m personally diagnosed with. The knowledge I gained was incredibly valuable, enriching both my understanding and my healing journey. I am grateful for the opportunity to focus my studies on such a personal topic!

4. What professions have you worked in prior to enrolling at IHN?

I’m currently working as a Human Resources professional, but my path started in the recreation field, where I facilitated children’s programming and wellness education.

5. What degrees or academic achievements did you have prior to IHN?

Before enrolling at IHN, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science with honours from York University. I also earned a certificate in Human Resources Management from Seneca College.

6. What are your goals/aspirations as a CNP?

As a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, my goal is to empower women to regain control over their bodies through nutrition and wellness. I’m especially passionate about focusing on women’s health, particularly PCOS and Endometriosis. There are limited resources available for those facing these challenges, and I believe it’s vital to share my personal experiences and education to make a meaningful difference.

7. What has been your personal best achievement?

One of my proudest achievements has been recognizing my passion and choosing to pursue it. It may sound simple, but it took a leap of faith for me. I can confidently say that this decision has been the best one I’ve made, and I am proud of myself for taking that risk!

8. What is something you overcame in your life, that you didn’t think you could?

One of the biggest challenges I’ve overcome in my life is learning to stop blaming myself for my illness. As someone who has always been healthy and active, it was tough to accept the reality of my health situation. However, this journey has led to a deeper appreciation for my body and all it does for me.

9. What is something about you that would surprise people?

Something interesting about me that may surprise people is that I figure skated for 15 years, and coached figure skating and hockey for 4 years. It has been a huge part of my life and I will always have a love for being on the ice! Find me on Instagram at: stephholisticnutrition 😊
