She is also a certified Live & Dry Blood Analyst and DNA Analyst, further enhancing her ability to assess health concerns at a deeper level. Her expertise in holistic nutrition, gained at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, enables her to uncover underlying health imbalances rather than merely addressing symptoms. To bridge natural and conventional approaches, she pursued a diploma in Traditional Naturopathy at the Alternative Medicine College of Canada, expanding her knowledge and appreciation of natural health modalities. Tahlia is a trained Herbalist from Wild Rose Herbal College, where she developed a comprehensive understanding of herbal medicine.

With over 10 years of experience working with private clients and six years of teaching experience as a faculty member at the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, Tahlia’s clinical focus is supporting clients to take their power back from complex health challenges in the area of endocrinology and metabolic health. Her approach is holistic, non-invasive, and proactive, integrating natural modalities and lifestyle strategies to support the body’s innate ability to heal.

She believes that symptoms are the body’s way of communicating underlying imbalances. Through individualized wellness plans and client education, she empowers clients to understand their health on a deeper level and take an active role in their well-being.

Tahlia is dedicated to guiding clients toward optimal health by providing evidence-based, personalized strategies for lasting wellness.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This advanced course delves into the complex relationship between metabolic and endocrine health, focusing on root causes of weight dysregulation, insulin resistance, and hormone imbalances. Students will master advanced assessment techniques, interpret key biomarkers, and apply evidence-based strategies to address issues like metainflammation, thyroid dysfunction, and estrogen dominance. Tailored for holistic health practitioners, this course provides practical tools to optimize metabolic and endocrine outcomes for sustained result. By mastering these approaches, health professionals will be equipped to foster trust, effectively empower clients, and build lasting relationships that encourage client retention and ongoing engagement.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Study advanced metabolic biomarkers
• Learn about conventional medical interventions for metabolic disease and their downsides
• Study how to holistically assess metabolic profiles from endocrine, gut, and inflammatory perspectives
• Learn specific supplement and protocol strategies to support metabolism in different client cases

LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing this course, students should have general proficiency in the following:
Read and understand foundational and advanced metabolic biomarkers
• Determine a client’s metabolic profile and provide personalized strategies for sustainable metabolic transformation
• Apply personalized diet and fasting recommendations, and determine their suitability for different metabolic profiles
• Understand how to supplement according to each metabolic profile

SESSION 1
DATE: TUES, OCT 7

MAIN CONCEPT: Building Advanced Clinical Expertise in Endocrine Metabolic Dynamics: Biomarkers, Pharmaceuticals & Client Evaluation
Explore the origins and limitations of short term weight loss strategies; Examine psychological and physiological effects of repeated quick-fix attempts; Assess multifactorial metabolic profiles to support early clinical wins; Anticipate and navigate endocrine-driven plateaus; Develop adaptive, client-centered intervention roadmaps; Debunk common misconceptions about pharmaceutical intervention such as metformin and Ozempic; Interpret foundational and advanced metabolic biomarkers for personalized care

SESSION 2
DATE: TUES, OCT 14

MAIN CONCEPT: Personalized Foundation Strategies for Metabolic Health
Develop individualized approaches to blood sugar regulation by advancing beyond carb counting and addressing client-specific gluconeogenesis triggers; Quantify and support improvements in blood sugar stabilization, highlighting how optimal regulation may enable safe, supervised medication reduction; Assess the suitability and risks of various fasting methods based on individual metabolic and endocrine profiles to ensure safe and effective application; Analyze how dietary protocols (e.g., ketogenic, paleo, vegan) align or conflict with distinct biochemical and hormonal profiles; Apply an orthomolecular approach to supplementation using agents like berberine and chromium, emphasizing dose-dependent, condition-specific protocols for measurable outcomes

SESSION 3
DATE: TUES, OCT 21

MAIN CONCEPT: Metainflammation & the Inflammatory Drivers of Endocrine Weight Gain
Define metainflammation and its role in the chronic cycle of fat accumulation, insulin resistance, and metabolic rigidity; Conduct individualized assessments to identify contributors to low-grade inflammation, including dietary antigens, inflammatory fats, MSG, and environmental toxins; Evaluate the clinical impact of mitigating inflammatory triggers on metabolic markers and body composition; Learn how chronic inflammation disrupts thyroid function and endocrine signalling, impeding long-term weight regulation and metabolic recovery

SESSION 4
DATE: TUES, OCT 28

MAIN CONCEPT: Thyroid Health in Endocrine Metabolic Dynamics
Analyze subclinical hypothyroidism and its metabolic implications, and key biomarkers for early detection; Learn how to conduct individual assessments to determine when and how to implement thyroid support for sustained metabolic improvements; Understand the key dos and don’ts of addressing thyroid issues in the context of weight loss to prevent setbacks and enhance long-term results; Investigate evidence-based strategies to optimize thyroid function and enhance metabolic health.

SESSION 5
DATE: TUES, NOV 4

MAIN CONCEPT: Neuro-Endocrine Impact on Metabolic Health
Learn to quantify the impact of chronic stress, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation on blood sugar levels; Explain why a healthy diet alone is not enough to manage metabolic dysfunction; Assess how stress affects pancreatic function and overall endocrine balance; Explore mind-body strategies for improving metabolic resilience.

SESSION 6
DATE: TUES, NOV 11

MAIN CONCEPT: Mitigating the Metabolic Burden of Chronic Infections
Define chronic low-grade infections and their role in metabolic disorders and aging; Identify common sources of chronic infections (gut, dental, vaginal, urinary, bladder) and their systemic effects; Develop strategies to mitigate the metabolic burden of chronic infections.

SESSION 7
DATE: TUES, NOV 18

MAIN CONCEPT: Estrogen Imbalance & Its Role in Metabolic Dysfunction
Explore how different estrogen profiles contribute to metabolic dysfunction, including its effects on body composition, insulin resistance, and chronic inflammation; Identify key symptoms of estrogen imbalance and assess its role in disrupting metabolic health and glucose regulation; Learn dietary, lifestyle, and herbal approaches to restoring estrogen balance and mitigating its impact on metabolic function.

SESSION 8
DATE: TUES, NOV 25
MAIN CONCEPT:Cellular Health & Detoxification in Endocrine Metabolic Regulation
Understand the critical relationship between cellular health and endocrine function, emphasizing the role of mitochondria function and cell membrane integrity; Assess how mitochondrial function and cellular detoxification processes influence hormone regulation and metabolic health; Identify effective lifestyle and nutritional strategies to enhance cellular function, optimize detoxification, and support balanced endocrine health.
