Most memorable moment at IHN
Studying at IHN was such a unique and awesome learning experience! Between the instructors and my fellow colleagues, it felt like a space where we really got to learn from each other while learning more about ourselves. The nature walk we did during the Herbal Medicine course was such a peaceful ‘hands-on’ learning experience. This course gave me the knowledge to expand on my understanding of herbs from my Caribbean homeland in order to share their medicinal benefits with others. Also, I really enjoyed the cooking class, Holistic Food Preparation. It was an excellent opportunity to incorporate what we were learning into yummy, nutritious foods.
Favorite class at IHN
Professional Skills Development–it was a nerve-racking course that provided a glimpse of how to be a business owner in the wellness industry. The public speaking and food demonstrations weren’t easy, however I am so grateful that I worked hard to excel in those assignments. Those powerful experiences and tips I learned in that course guided me to the public speaking and workshop avenues that I love today!
Currently doing in the field of Holistic Nutrition
I am the Co-founder of Whole Hearted Food–Nutrition Consulting Services. A former classmate from IHN, Sharon Fong CNP and I, co-founded our nutrition practice where we conduct workshops, provide nutritional coaching, wellness products and meal plans to our individual clients and the community cultural organizations we work with. Being part of the BIPOC and Caribbean community we make it our mission to support our clients by incorporating holistic practices while celebrating their cultural foods and heritage. We share our adventures on our social media and I also have a YouTube channel and my own platform where I provide lifestyle insights and product reviews in a fun way! I also provide food service support to small businesses in regards to catering and menu planning.
