Most Memorable Moment
For me it was more of a whole class than a moment, Professional Skills with Josie. Every class was a dose of inspiration for personal and professional growth. Being a naturally shy person, I was pushed to face my fears and rewarded by my own accomplishments. It was an emotionally challenging yet very gratifying experience shared with my fellow classmates. I loved the cooking demonstration class the most! Elizabeth’s smiling face and highly contagious positive energy each time she popped into our classroom is of course a delightful part of my memory of IHN!

Favourite Class
It’s difficult to pick just one!! Every class and teacher at IHN was a unique and their lessons about holistic nutrition are invaluable. The passion and knowledge that each teacher brought to the course also allowed me to discover which path I was going endeavour in the nutrition field. Fundamentals, with Murat, was a great starting point and really established a great base for the rest of the school year. Murat is an amazing resource to the students of IHN. Often referred to as the Encyclopaedia of Nutrition, we were never left with an unanswered question. The Comparative Diets course, also taught by Murat, really creates a sense of the philosophy behind holistic nutrition: we are all unique individuals with unique and evolving dietary needs. What works for one person, may not work for another. The Holistic Food Preparation course with Patricia was really wonderful. She reiterates the idea of using food to heal in everyday life. It was a great balance of traditional wisdom and new knowledge of healing your body with whole food. And we got to cook and eat!!

Currently Doing in the Field of Holistic Nutrition
I am a co-owner of Two Girls Cooking Inc, a nutrition and wellness consulting service with a lot of love for delicious food to attain vibrant health. Our philosophy lies in providing the right tools and knowledge to empower people to achieve optimal health through whole foods. Two Girls Cooking offers fun interactive food demos, educational workshops, nutritional consulting, and healthy kitchen makeovers.
In addition to our wellness services, we have also created a line of the healthiest snack foods on the market!! As holistic nutritionists, we were completely frustrated with the lack of healthy snack foods on the market. We created 6 delicious snack food products that are Organic, Raw, Gluten-Free and Nut-Free. Our products are a combination of root vegetables, dark green leafy vegetables, sprouted seeds, gluten-free grains, dried fruits and a variety of flavorful herbs. Our philosophy is to achieve the highest nutrient profile without sacrificing taste. Our products are available over 3 provinces with 70 active accounts including: Whole Foods, (Vancouver), Market by Longo’s (Toronto) and Pusateri’s Fine Foods (all locations). Our product line has noteworthy publications in: The National Post, House & Home Magazine, Edible Toronto Magazine, The Daily Vitamin and the Hamilton Spectator. Most recently Two Girls Cooking kale chips were featured nationwide on Cityline TV as 1 of the top 5 best new food trends of 2011.
We are looking forward to developing the brand of Two Girls Cooking Inc with new and innovative snack foods, exciting educational programs and lots of nutritious and delicious cooking!!
