Most memorable moment at IHN:
That feeling of empowerment when I walked into the classroom for the first time. I remember being so eager to learn, but didn’t realize quite yet that some of the people in that room would turn into lifelong friends and connections.
Favourite class at IHN:
Professional Practice was my favourite class because it gave us the opportunity to see how we could apply all of the amazing things we learned in the program, into a viable career. I actually loved this class so much that I ended up teaching it at the Ottawa Campus one semester! It felt pretty incredible to be able to use my education at IHN, combined with my experience in the co-op program and everything I learned while building my own business, to inspire future CNPs to go out there and kick some serious butt.
Currently doing in the field of Holistic Nutrition:
Working autonomously was one of my main goals and blogging full time allowed me to achieve just that. With staff around the world, I’m able to travel and work pretty much anywhere. Although I mostly blog about lifestyle topics, I integrate my knowledge into offering a specialization to posts on the blog that fall within the health and nutrition field. With my own personal website, I’m still able to run workshops, develop recipes and even see clients, when I have the time. It’s been the best of both worlds for me. Just like your health, it’s not a one-size-fits all for what you have to do with your career in nutrition. If what you want to do isn’t defined as a job yet, then make it one.
