Most memorable moment at IHN
Wow there are so many, hard to choose! I guess the most memorable moment that stood out in my mind was my very first day at IHN. As we all sat there making our introductions and telling our stories, I knew I was in the right place and that I was on the right path. I could feel the energy in the room that day, and it was exhilarating. It was such a moving day that I will never forget it.
My very first class in Fundamentals of Nutrition was also a memorable moment. As I sat there in my first class listening to the lecture, I knew that applying to IHN was the best decision I ever made.. I couldn’t believe that I could go somewhere everyday and have someone teach me what I did as a hobby endlessly for hours in my spare time. I was taking it all in, thinking to myself “this school is going to change my entire life and I’m already feeling the shift”. I can’t tell you how much gratitude I felt to be in that position…powerful moment indeed.

Last one I’ll mention of many memorable moments, was the last day at IHN. It was a very emotional day for me as I didn’t want this journey to end. It was a bittersweet day, but to see how everyone had transformed, including myself; was truly a magical experience to see. This program is a life course and everyone would benefit from it, your life does a complete 180 when you complete this course. Your thoughts and reality are so different from what they were when you started. You don’t change a part of you when you go through this course, you change everything about you. You feel a sense of empowerment and life force running through you as you walk through those doors for the last time. Sad but truly amazing day!

Favourite class at IHN
This is a really tough question. I would have to say, I really enjoyed each and every class at IHN! But one that stood out for me was, Professional Skills Development. When I walked into that class everyday I was excited and nervous at the same time. We bonded on such a deep level. We shared tears, laughs, jokes and some very intense moments. Here we were able to let go of our fears and transcend into a safe place, that was filled with infinite love and gratitude. I always had a fear of public speaking, but this class helped me build up my confidence, and taught me how to let go of my fears. It brought me back to my core. Our Instructor Josie is a beautiful soul that is so passionate about what she does. She is really motivating, and is a fabulous instructor. I never wanted this class to end! Everyone became like family to me in this class.

Another amazing class was Psychology of Disease. This is where we spoke about the mind body soul connection. How our thoughts affect our life and well-being. This class was right up my alley, as we explored areas of the spirit and mind, and how our emotions and daily thoughts manifested and shaped our reality. If you change your thoughts, you can definitely change your life. Most people do not realize that every human being possesses a certain innate power that reflects it’s creators ability to create and manifest thoughts. I loved the energy in this class, as it confirmed my beliefs that the mind is a very powerful tool that can be used to heal yourself on a deeper level. Learning how to use a pendulum and how to do muscle testing was also fascinating. Last but not least (I told you I couldn’t pick just one!) Holistic Food Preparation was amazing. We learned how to make raw sprouted food, using recipes that are easy to make, nutrient dense and absolutely delicious. The class included nature walks in the forest and cooking and sharing food with amazing people . Our instructor Eva always begins and ends her cooking classes with a meditation, which is very grounding. Eva takes food to a whole other level. She is the most down to earth person you will meet, and is very knowledgeable in the field of nutrition. I am now always looking for ‘medicine’ when I’m out a walking in the woods.

Currently doing in the field of Holistic Nutrition
I am currently the founder and owner of Love Food Gratitude, a nutritional consulting practice in York region. I am also a mom, nutritional speaker, recipe creator, kids cooking class instructor, and wellness blogger.

In my practice, I encourage clients to focus on their whole self, not just their physical body.  I believe that the mind is a very powerful tool and should be used to heal the body, alongside a healthy diet. I thrive on educating people on food, nutrition, the environment, physical fitness, and natural medicine (eastern medicine philosophy). My work is intended for all people interested in natural healing.

My ultimate passion is working with children. I run cooking classes and nutrition talks at elementary schools, preschools, day camps, and also offer cooking classes for birthday parties.  I recently ran a cooking program with the York Region Autism Ontario Camp this past summer.

This year, I launched my website Love Food Gratitude. My passion for educating people on health and wellness has led me in this direction. I created this website so I could share with the world, what I learned through my endless research, hard work at IHN, and my continued research.  On my website,  my blog encompasses: health, nutrition, wellness, spirituality, and natural beauty. My goal is to inspire and empower people,  and get them to live and feel the healthiest and happiest possible with the goal of longevity and vitality.

I am working on a exciting project at the moment. One of them is a e-commerce shop for my website. Here you will be able to purchase wellness essentials, super foods, natural products, and healthy gift baskets for any occasion with the touch of a button. My focus is to support local organic non-gmo companies, that support fair trade, and sustainability.

Look out for the launch of the Love Food Gratitude shop,  opening in Fall 2014.
