Most memorable moment at IHN
Prior to enrolling at IHN, I visited the Vancouver campus for the day. I was able to sit-in on the Nutrition Through The Life Span class and I had an overwhelming feeling of this is where I needed to be. I found the community inviting and curious, which allowed for open dialogue and that was exciting!
Favorite class at IHN
My clinical practice is rooted in dietary foundations, which is probably why The Fundamentals of Nutrition Class stands out as (still) a favourite class from my time at IHN. I also loved the Instructor’s teaching style. She led Biological Chemistry & Body Metabolism during my studies. The way I communicate and translate the science of eating to my clients and students today is deeply informed by these courses.
Currently doing in the field of Holistic Nutrition
After completing my co-op with InspireHealth, a supportive cancer care centre, I formally joined their clinical team of physicians, clinical counsellors, and kinesiologists. I worked with the organization for seven years as a nutritionist and the Vancouver Island Clinical Director before moving exclusively to private one-on-one nutrition counselling. My work has evolved to focus on hormonal health including endometriosis, PCOS, fertility, prenatal & postpartum care, menopausal support, and estrogen-related cancers. I am opening Glow Integrative (www.glowintegrative.com), a holistic clinic passionate about women’s health, in Victoria, BC in the spring of 2023. I’m also a proud faculty member of Pacific Rim College where I instruct in the nutrition programs and herbal and doula certificates.
