Most memorable moment at IHN:
During Professional Skills Development, I was in the midst of the final presentation, which was a live food demo. I was about to mix my entire batch of freshly made guacamole with the same spoon I had just used to taste test, until one of my classmates called me out and stopped me just in time! At the time I was mortified, but after the presentation was over we all had a great laugh!
Favourite class at IHN:
Fundamentals of Nutrition and Holistic Food Preparation. Fundamentals is truly such a comprehensive foundational course. The knowledge of vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbs that I gained in that course was so essential to my learning of more advanced areas of nutrition, like the pathology of disease. Holistic Food Preparation was the class that allowed me to transform that theoretical nutrition knowledge into simple and delicious dishes that one can make for anyone! Cooking with my classmates was such a fun way to learn.
Currently doing in the field of holistic nutrition:
Last year I formulated and created my handcrafted bath and body care line, Dermis by Tropho. Starting from local markets and pop ups, I’m currently counting down to the exciting launch of our online store in October of 2018, when we will officially start shipping across Canada! Additional to these endeavors; as well as running my company, I have been working as an Academic Advisor at IHN’s Mississauga campus for the past 5 years. Additionally I have been working with Susan Elliotson RH – Medical Herbalist, as a Cultivation and Formulation Assistant for over 4 years.
